Pair O’ Pear

Name: Pair O’ Pear
Medium: Watercolor on Arches 140# paper
Size: 5×7″
My Process: I love the shape of pears. I think they remind me of people–their shape and tilt, seems like they are always in a conversation. With these, I used the multiple glaze process starting with the pears, dropping in bits of color as I went. My primary colors were New Gamboge, Quin. Gold, Thalo Blue, Cobalt Blue, Winsor Purple, and Quin. Burnt Scarlet. The background is almost pure paint using Thalo Blue, Winsor Purple and Cobalt Blue. The stems and distress marks were added last.
